Our August meeting had arrived and with members and schools on holiday it was lovely to see such a really good turn out. The day began with a sales table and it was like bees around a honey pot as there were lots of bargains to be had. By lunch time almost everyone had purchased something, our group funds gained 10% of the takings and those members who had brought along things to sell had developed a large smile as they were a little richer for their effort.
As the meeting was a catch up day members had brought along a piece of unfinished work and as that was our goal we all settled down to do what we all like most, that is to stitch. It was very exciting to see so many techniques being used and also have a chat along the way. This is the sort of meeting where ideas are shared and problems are solved. Members had also been asked to bring in any finished pieces from the Silk Painting day with Jayne Huskisson and this gave us a mini exhibition of work to look at. It was promised that more silk painted pieces would be finished nearer the end of this year so again, watch this space. Over all our catch up day had proved to be successful, enjoyable and such a stress free meeting for everyone involved.
